Hi… it’s Shrimpy talking: The platforms new chatbot feature

From next semester on, there will be a new feature on SHRIMP: A Chatbot! Students will be able to talk to our one and only aquatic team member and resident learning expert, Shrimpy, who will help them use and navigate the platform more easily and who will provide advice on how to learn more effectively. Here’s a picture of him:

How You Used Shrimp This Semester

The semester is coming to an end - while you are probably busy with your exams at this point, we are evaluating and interpreting your and your fellow students’ interaction data. With these numbers and statistics, we primarily intend to help you to learn more about yourself and your learning behavior. Maybe you consider yourself as some kind of learning type – for example, as someone who likes to annotate a lot. The figures can show you if this is actually the case and help you to maybe adjust your learning methods in the future.

Midterm Survey: The Results

Sometimes you have to ask to find out if someone is okay. That goes for friends, family, colleagues... and especially for you! In order to adapt SHRIMP better to your needs, it is super important for us to know whether you are satisfied with the platform and if you think we could improve certain features or processes. That’s why we started a short midterm survey on SHRIMP a few weeks ago. Here are the results!

SHRIMP at Digital Humanities Day Leipzig 2019

On December 02, 2019 we were invited to present SHRIMP at the Digital Humanities Day organized by the Forum Digital Humanities Leipzig (Uni Leipzig), which took place this year at the Grassi Museum. As part of a poster slam, we presented SHRIMP and the current project status - all in just sixty seconds! Visitors who were interested in a more detailed introduction to the project after this little and compact "appetizer" could visit us at a poster exhibition afterwards.

Distribution of learning types in the current semester

Shortly after the start of the semester we want to present you some statistics! Remember the test you had to take before you could use SHRIMP? On the basis of these questions we wanted to find out what type of learner you are in order to customize SHRIMP according to your personal learning needs. Now we have evaluated the test results and determined the exact distribution of learning types in your seminar – interesting to find out how your fellow students prefer to learn, isn't it?

SHRIMP at 5. Tag der Lehre

On Friday, November 8, 2019, the “5. Tag der Lehre” will take place at the University of Leipzig. The event focuses on the exchange on subject-specific and interdisciplinary questions of teaching and learning. We will present SHRIMP, our latest results and insights and the team behind the project. Come over and say hello between 11-12.30 h! The video shows some impressions of last year's event:

SHRIMP at Tag der Lehre 2018

On November 7, 2018, the SHRIMP team had the opportunity to introduce the platform to the attendees at the "Digitale Inseln zum Ausprobieren" at the University's main campus. This year, the topic at the heart of Tag der Lehre was digitalization in the context of higher learning, making it the ideal forum to introduce SHRIMP.
